He's indifferent. He's always indifferent. Apathetic and dulled, with arms always braced around the back of his couch. His eyes are lazed and lidded, the need to live gone. He's indifferent. He's always indifferent.

But when the two men meet, one feeling so much it'll kill him, and the other feeling too little to live, something shifts. How else is one supposed to start hoping in a world filled with death and horrifying grief?
