Washington State 1880: Liam McCallum (28) is exhausted. After his wife's death, he's single-handedly raising his two children and running their farm. Liam doesn't want a new wife but he finally admits that he needs one. A solicitor from England brings photos of mail-order brides who are hoping to come to the United States. McCallum haphazardly chooses one but she never arrives. God has bigger plans for Liam than he has for himself. Grace Elliott (19) has had a rough couple of years. Although she was raised in a genteel home, she's been on her own since the age of fifteen. On the run from her evil uncle, Grace works as a servant at a small country inn outside London. When it's no longer safe, she prayerfully decides to be a mail-order bride and moves to the United States. But to her horror, after grueling travels with terrible motion sickness, her fiancé takes one look at her and rejects her.
