This YYH based epic opens with Airi, a sweet girl who possesses an incredible darkness, breaking free from six years of captivity and torture. Entering on the day of Yusuke's wake, she finds herself indebted to Hiei. His distaste for her eases when he realizes she is not the weak human he expected, and as she opens herself up to him, he comes to trust her. That trust gives rise to an intense romance, one that allows them to grow and to fail, together.

Things are not always as they seem, and after the Dark Tournament, Airi's mysterious history comes to light. Her story weaves through the remaining anime arcs, and after the Makai Tournament, she and Hiei remain in Demon World to embark on a surprising quest. Through it all, their irrevocable bond and devastating physical connection hold them steady.

Mostly Hiei/Airi's POV, but Genkai, Kurama, Yusuke, Yukina, and other OCs get the spotlight, too. Hope you enjoy!

My HC is that Hiei is fiercely pansexual, so I write him from this perspective! It will come up later on ;)

Of course, from Yuki's perspective he's a genius and their all just jealous. He is a very delusional protagonist. In Snow Souls, Part 1 Yuki and his team must travel to Shanghai in search of the rumored "Cold Child"; a strange creature that has been using the powers of ice and illusions to protect the women of the red-light district. While there, they learn of both the Zi family, a powerful gang rumored to use demons and of the Faceless Murders, where bodies have been turning up with their faces devoured. Why had Onmyodo sent them capture the harmless Cold Child rather than have them look into these more dire rumors? Or is something more sinister brewing behind the scenes? Could Cold Child actually be more than what they seem, and could they hold the secret to not only the dangerous Zi family but also the face devouring demon dog whom stalks Shanghai's streets at night? Ever wondered what Hiei was up to during his stay in the human world? How he was able to survive after finding himself stuck in a world where he'd rather not be and knows little about? Well, here is my version of those events. Hiei is moved into an apartment in town because, well, Koenma has to put him somewhere. There he is faced with the family next door and, against his will, their hospitality. Little does he know there is more to this nearly cliché appearing family then meets the eye. One member of that family, Yuko, a seemingly normal human teen that seems unlucky enough to be running head first into trouble and on one faithful night she unlocks a whole new world for herself through Hiei. Each chapter will show the point of views present, being either Yuko's or Hiei's mostly. I don't own Hiei or anything Yu Yu Hakusho related, but damn I would have loved to. Rated #1 in yuyuhakusho! #1 in yyh

Hiei stood there in surprise, even using his Jagan eye to searched for her body, but the body wasn't found. "I know you're not dead, Hayami." He said to no one, 'We'll meet again someday. And one day...I'd like to claim you as mine.' He told himself in his thoughts as he looks at the ocean of demon world. 'You're no ordinary half breed in my eyes, Onna.
