Sorrows and Scars

When Liza, a young teen from the slums, is unjustly sent to Celanawe Prison, she expects her life to be over. No one sent here is seen again, and even if they did, to be sent here is to be marked a Sorrow. A monster, dangerous and cruel. She doesn't know why she's here even, all she did was steal a piece of bread, but the judgement has been laid.
And then she meets Scars, a strange woman with surprising influence here, who takes Liza under her damaged wings, and suddenly maybe she can survive.
