In a lot of ways, this story is a romantic love story about platonic love and relational reconciliation. This is an LGBTQ center-ed love story about a woman named Audrey's conflicted thoughts and feelings towards her high school best friend Anika who she had fallen in love a decade ago. As a result of her immaturity at the time, the two's friendship fell apart and left both women deeply traumatized. Now, 10 years later with a picture perfect life and an amazing pre-fiancée: Dunni, Audrey still finds herself longing not for the relationship that she once had with her high school best friend, but a new relationship all together. The only problem is that she has no idea how to go about it without hurting everyone she loves and losing everything that she has gained.

"You scared of me, babe?" Erin's breath was warm against Annika's ear, sending shivers down her spine. "No. I just need to go somewhere else right now." Annika's voice wavered, her nerves frayed. "Somewhere away from me? You lying now, sweetheart? I hate liars." Erin's tone was cold and commanding, adding to Annika's discomfort. "Yes, I-I'm scared- not of you per se. B-but, I feel awkward and embarrassed. Can you please let me go?" Annika struggled to maintain her composure, her breath coming in uneven gasps. "But your body is telling a different story, love." Erin's whisper was soft but penetrating. Her hand slowly traced up Annika's thigh, her fingers making slow, deliberate circles on her dress. Annika's heart raced uncontrollably. She felt the familiar sensation of Erin's touch, her body freezing in place as words failed her. Erin's hand ventured further, moving toward Annika's inner thigh. The unexpected touch drew a soft moan from Annika, her attempt to resist visibly faltering. Erin chuckled softly, amused by Annika's struggle. "Your body wants something else, babe. Your body wants this." Annika, a senior English Literature student, had always led a quiet, uneventful college life-until she met Erin, her new roommate's best friend. Erin, mysterious and irresistibly charming, had a notorious reputation for casual, no-strings-attached flings with women on campus. Despite her own cautious nature, Annika couldn't help but be drawn to Erin's magnetic presence. What began as a fleeting connection quickly spiraled into something deeper, leaving Annika caught between her desire for more and Erin's aversion to commitment. As their casual hook-ups grew more intense, Annika struggled to navigate her feelings in a relationship destined for complication.
