Salmonids rose from the cold dark waters, off the shore of Splatsvile. The Government had a plan to over come this, they would do what they always did when the mindless fish came on land. They had Grizzco, they would send the planes of the experienced citizens to deal with it. They thought of it as sport, a harmless game! This was, different, the mindless creatures suddenly had a goal. A goal that was unnatural. They started destroying anything that got in their way, even the people. Being ruthless and bloodthirsty to anything that got in their way.
but the government had it under control right?

Heyo! This is my first Splatoon fanfic here, so I hope it's not too cringy. A bit of swearing (maybe), but overall, pretty friendly (I hope). I'd say 10+ for ages. And none of the photos or characters that are in the book belong to me, unless I say so. Anyway, on to the description. (Cover is credited to @ThatSaltyMango) Startled and afraid, (Female) Agent 8 fights for her freedom against (Male) Agent 3 after abandoning her squadron that was supposed to lead the getaway to Octo Canyon. Out of nowhere, they're both suddenly knocked unconscious and wake up in a dark lab, about to be sanitized. Will they escape? Find out. Reached #1 in Splatoon at some point during 2021 93,287 words (yes, i calculated dw), not counting the 7 intermission/notification chapters. And the worst part is he's running out of time to do all of it. If Akikta doesn't find a solution to his unfortunate condition, he'll be dead by tomorrow. But he's never been a quitter, and he isn't gonna start now. So much has happened the past few years, DJ Octavio's defeat in claiming the Great Zapfish, Commander Tarter's doomsday laser, and Mr. Grizz's failed attempt to bring mammals back to the planet. Some of which could have spelled the end of Inkling-kind and the end of the world, but now a year has passed and things have finally settled down for the New Squidbeak Splatoon. Sort of... DJ Octavio is still loose, and a band of criminals and disgruntled turfers has made a name for themselves in Inkopolis. And to make matters worse, the Great Zapfish has been stolen!...again. At the same time, a few creatures, the likes of which the world thought would never see again, has stepped back out into the light to a world they are never prepared for. But there is more to these creatures than it meets the eye. Can the heroic agents of Splatoon save the day yet again? And can these creatures cope with this new world they're thrusted into. And if these two races meet, will they bide in friendship, or will someone go splat? "P.S. Akikta, the last living remnant of humanity, outsmarted death; he's all that's left, which wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the state of Earth. Like the rest of Alterna's residents, he had a dream to see the world above. But once he escaped Alterna, he came to find the surface wasn't quite like what his predecessors foretold. After twelve millennia, life moved on and now the surface is dominated by evolved sentient sea life. To add insult to injury, practically all non-mollusks, more noticeably, mammalians, have gone extinct. Even if that makes him an endangered species, it does not deter him from his ultimate goal: to save a loved one who was thought to be long lost. With his only form of help being guidance from a mysterious man on a radio, Akikta will do whatever it takes to bring a piece of his family back and survive in this new era.
