Gus is a Steel Bender, feared by many, including herself. But her ability is not to be wasted. When her realm of exile is attacked, she has to accept the path her powers laid down for her, despite her true nature. Against her will, she becomes a Devotee, a military Bender whose sole purpose is to serve her twin Trooper. Her dad, the most talented Steel Bender in history, didn't fail at the job. He died at it.
But if Gus dies, Steel bending dies with her, along with the hopes of freedom for the rest of the Benders of Darhterre.
