Hanzo was always alone. His entire childhood served in the Foundation until he was moved to regular ANBU. He thought things would be different when Tsunade placed him on a regular team that was short a member since the old Sasuke Uchiha member had gone rogue. But it seems things don't go as planned because they can't get over the fact. He is replacing their teammate and has a connection with the culprit who took their old teammate. (Takes place at around about sometime after Sasuke's retrieval mission fails)
