Iris is a 22-year-old college student who uses they/she pronouns. She lives on their own in a basement apartment in Brooklyn, New York, with their golden doodle Charlie. They have a quaint little apartment similar to a shoe box in size but filled with a collection of hand-painted art and fun colors. She is also a member of the queer community and is thrilled to experience their first pride in New York City! They are pansexual and unpartnered at this time. However, that may change throughout the book. They work as a teacher at a preschool and love every minute of it! Iris is actively enrolled in college online at New York University to become a licensed teacher for grades pre-k through third grade. They love their job and don't plan to leave it; however, who knows what the future may hold? The center she works at is nice, but the pay isn't near enough for everything they do in a day to prepare the kids for school, not to mention life. They spend their free time hanging out with friends and Charlie their puppy. She also enjoys reading and writing!

They say Junior Year of College is the hardest, but for Iris, it's for new beginnings. It's never too late to live your dreams, which is precisely what Iris is hell-bent on doing. What's more, she ends up in the bed of the girl she has had a crush on for years. It seems that everything is going even better than Iris planned. But what happens when Iris crosses paths with another girl in the most unconventional way possible? With her life seemingly falling apart, and the realization that people are not always how you imagine them to be, Junior Year of College might be off to an unexpected start.
