Rein tries to live a normal life. She tries harder every single day. She gave up her money and popularity for her friends, Bailie and Jake, to find out they used her just for it. They abused her and tried to drown her. To rebuild her life she moves to a different town to get treatment from a specialist in Florida, away from everything. She drives her mom away, making her believe that Rein hates her. The only person she can trust to tell through all this is her neighbor, Lucas, that moves in to take care of her. Lucas does everything for her. He tries to make her feel better but it doesn't always work. She is tired of trying, sick of crying. She might be smiling, but inside she is dying. Literally.

When a girl gets a complete makeover, the hot guy is supposed to start liking her. Not Forrest Stephens. He merely gave me a once-over, said "nice outfit", and walked right past me. Maybe being his friend was the problem. Or maybe the fact that he's a playboy. But now that other guys started noticing me, he's gotten protective-demanding I don't date them without his permission, and touching me in ways that makes everyone think I'm off-limits. · · ─ ·✶· ─ · · "Spencer," his caress over my name brought the smallest blush, the events of last night flashing through my mind like a movie. His knuckles brushed my cheek. Angling his head, he studied me, eyes narrowing in a way that was uncomfortably critical. "You're blushing," he noted. He was so close I caught a whiff of his wintergreen gum. In that moment I wanted to disappear. "I'm not," I denied. "You are," he countered, leaning in. "Your cheeks are pink. You're not into me-are you?" 𝚃𝚘𝚙 𝚁𝚊𝚗𝚔𝚒𝚗𝚐𝚜: #1 𝚓𝚎𝚊𝚕𝚘𝚞𝚜𝚢 #1 𝚙𝚕𝚊𝚢𝚎𝚛 **Wrote this in middle school. Revised to make readable**
