オーストラリア・ビクトリア州フェアヘイブンの岩浜の潮だまりで、奇妙な生物が見つかった。海水浴客が撮影し、フェイスブックグループ「フィールド・ナチュラリスト・クラブ・オブ・ビクトリア」に先日、投稿した。

「潮だまりで見つかりました。ちょっと大変でした、植物のようでした...」と記した不思議な生物は、脳みそのようにもエイリアンのようにも見える。

 これを見たユーザーたちからは「別の惑星から来たエイリアンでは」「スポンジ・ボブのオールド・チョコレート・レディに似てる」「胎盤だ」「脊髄がついた脳みそか」などと意見が出た。後日、詳しいユーザーが「これはピュラ・パキデルマティナ(ニュージーランド周辺に生息するホヤの一種)です。シー・チューリップです」と特定した。
