"Ugh... What in the world...?"

Vision blury and head hurting like hell.

"What is this?"

She looked down at her hands, trying to balance on them despite their shaking, when suddenly a deep voice spoke:
- Welcome to the Devildom, Mallow!"

It frightened her. She fixated her eyes on whoever that was. Why were they welcoming her? Where was she?
- Oh, pardon me! - they continued - Feeling a bit shocked, are we?
There was something off about them. Their voice sounded normal, but didn't feel quite right.
- Well, that's understandable, you've only just arrived after all.

She was barely following the conversation. Her head was still throbbing in pain and there was a buzz in her ears.
The individual's next statements didn't help at all, either:
- As a human, it will probably take a while for you to adjust to things here, in the Devildom.

"As a human"? "Adjust"? "The Devildom"?
"What were they talking about? Why did they spoke like an alien?"

That was all her mind could form: questions. One moment she was walking the streets close to her home, and then she was... here, hearing to all that blabbering...
...

"You know, the thing about failure is that it only makes me want to try harder." . . Minato and Kushina survived the Kyuubi attack, the Uchiha Massacre never happened, Orochimaru never became a missing nin. What could go wrong? A lot of things actually, Uzumaki-Namikaze Naruto is shunned by the village, his father ignores him, and his mother disappeared. Sasuke was always a failure to his clan, nothing he did would ever be good enough for them. Kakashi was endlessly reminded that he would never be as great as the White Fang was. And Sakura was abandoned by her parents, who left her in Konoha while they do god-knows-what. Nobody expected them to amount to anything, but that only gave them the incentive to prove everyone wrong. This is the story of Team 7, the team of failures and rejects with a dream to make it to the top. . . . HIGHEST RANK: #338 in Fanfiction (10/28/17), #3 in Naruto (8/11/18) Sequel: Ascending (be sure to check it out after!!) Romance isn't the main genre but the pairings will be SasuNaru and GaaSaku. If you don't like yaoi then don't read, simple. -Warning: Swearing and Amateur Writing. This story begins in the country of Britannia. A country where several certain races live with one another. And at the center of these races stood a girl. A beautiful girl with wild molten hair and eyes that reflected the universe. She was the creation of love and the child of wilderness. She was someone full of wisdom, wisdom she had gathered from centuries of experience. Many don't know how she was born, some saying that she was the daughter of the blazing sun while others say that she was born from ashes during an alluring eclipse. The name they called her? Malaika Kya. Angel from the diamond sky. For eons she wandered, visiting many kingdoms and gaining many friends. She battled battles that many would have died from, protecting those she holds dear. Slowly, her family began to grow. Person by person, home by home, kingdom by kingdom. Her heart spreading the biggest of wings. But then it happened. The one she loved most was attacked, almost dying because of someone's idiocy. And so she fought. She fought for her dying family, soon gaining the powers of the internal flame buried deep inside her. Screeching her painful cry, she fought in her new form with all her might. But it wasn't enough as it's hand sprouted from her body. Tears fell from the eyes of her lover, his eyes wide as he watched her body wither in pain. Hey dark eye were gentle a she watched his physical pain disappear, his wounds sealed shut as he snatched her closer one more time. Softly she apologized, saying words she wanted so badly to say before sealing their goodbye with a kiss. After one last smile, she disappeared into the fire below, her body dissipating into the molten flames as her words echoed into the soundless wind. "Mind telling me about that promise again?"
