Kai Lofton's parents are scientist who had her for an experiment. The experiment was to create a perfect human. But because of this, it became Kai's imperfection. She was treated differently from kids and she was sent to an orphanage because her parents didn't want to raise a "failed experiment". But this experiment has left her with unimaginable powers that even she doesn't know about. 

So as it turns out they didn't fail at the experiment, they failed to raise her. Kai has a foster mother who does drugs and abuses her and the other children. She even left Kai with an irremovable scar on her back the reminds her of her foster mother before she went to prison. 

When she encounters the schools famous basketball player , Lyndon Harris, he mistakes her for a boy and they don't get along well at first. But then they clear up the misunderstandings and become friends. She even finds out that they attend the same school! Will they become more than friends ? cx!
