The legend of Darab is a detailed account of the life of Darab, the Kianid king, son of Bahman, and his daughter, Huma. This ancient tale can be broadly divided into three main sections: firstly, the story of Darab the Great; secondly, the tale of Alexander and the conquest of Iran; and thirdly, the story of Roshanak, the daughter of Darius, and her fate with Alexander. The origin of this story traces back to the ancient narratives of the Sassanid era, passed down through oral tradition and enriched with elements from various historical periods.
