Hermione Granger can't survive the peace that has followed the Battle of Hogwarts. Draco Malfoy has avoided Azkaban by the skin of his teeth, trading his testimony from the end of the war for a generous 10 year probation. His mother had switched sides after Hermione was tortured at the Manor, and in return she sits under house in the Malfoy estate in search of a pureblood bride for her only son and heir.
Neither of them want to go back to the scene of the crime, but the Ministry demands that all students either return to Hogwarts to repeat their year, find Ministry word, or transfer to another school. Hermione Granger and Draco Malfoy will be among the few who return to haunted halls of a once magical castle, now steeped in the blood of the Fallen Fifty. The darkness, nightmares and rage to act will push them closer together than they'd ever dared to imagine. Hermione Granger might the brightest witch of her age, but will she faulter in the path of lust.
The Ministry has been working around the clock to collect dark artifacts from the Malfoy Estate, but Draco becomes weary as the new Minister of Magic starts probing his mother for the last location of the Dark Lord's war horde. What is he looking for, and why are aurors dying to get it?
