Ross Gilligan's aspiration to find the biggest diamond the world has ever seen leads him to fund the develop a new piece of technology which scans the globe to locate diamonds. His machine points him to the diamond rich country of Botswana whereby he strikes an incredible deal with the president. He is given permission to excavate in his area of choice but unfortunately, he finds a small settlement of Bushmen who warn him against his plans. They warn him about a creature as old as time, the creator of humans and animals, Matsieng. He does not heed the warnings and proceeds with his plans. From the deep dark hole Gilligan digs, Matsieng emerges only to discover how humans have treated the earth and each other since he last appeared. His only solution is to put an end to his creation. Despite their struggles navigating through life, a group university students unite with the aim of saving their world and in the process, discovering their true identities.
