Elle Greenaway is angry. At a lot of things. Mostly, she's angry at the BAU - the people she thought were like family. They turned their backs on Elle when she needed them the most. When she was in pain. She will never let anyone else do that to her again.

Now, she's trying to cope with the feelings she's taken on since leaving the team. Alcohol doesn't do the trick anymore, and petty crimes are too easy to get away with. So, she's found a way to deal with the feelings - they're not gone, just harboured enough to get by. Her coping mechanisms might not be the most conventional, but they work. And that's all Elle needs.

But, there's one thing, one person who won't go away. Who she sees in everything. Who won't leave her mind.

And it's making her sloppy.

Spencer Reid is still hung up on his friend's rocky departure from the BAU. He often wonders if things could've been different - if he had said something or done something in the moment, would she still be here? Now with her gone, things are much worse. He decides he must make things right with Elle, and maybe convince her to come back to the BAU. First he has to find her.
