"A bird doesn't sing because it has an answer, it sings because it has a song."

Hayden Welch is a frail human being. He's scared to go to school, scared to go home---always afraid. Some people find it easier to shake off their demons by running, writing in a journal, listening to music, going away to "clear their mind." But Hayden does something else: he plays the cello. When he plays, the cello catches his tears and pain, placing them inside the music he plays. The cello is his only friend to go to after his encounters with Dominic "Nicky" O'Brien, his gang, and Hayden's parents. The only things he desire in life are friends and love.
When will he be given a chance?...
