This is the case for a sinner named Cryo, an overlord who committed su!c!de back in 2014 after his twin sister died. The young overlord at first was terrified of what would happen to him, but after surviving his first extermination, something clicked within him. This click was what made him become an overlord, create a new home for this just as unfortunate as him, and soon be considered a guardian to the people he made deals with. Once he heard about the princess's new project to rehabilitate sinners, he becomes Interested.
