After inheriting her grandmother's gift shop, Amber is trying to rebuild her life. This means bills, debt, and a life trajectory into hoards of cluttered trinkets that she thinks are nothing more than cheap gimmicks.
If that wasn't bad enough, her dreams have started to feel a little too real lately, and when she wakes up cradling an impossibly ancient artefact, she's about to discover a world of magic that couldn't possibly exist.
It's a good job that one of her local customers, an enigmatic stranger whose eyes burn with secrets and whose presence crackles with dangerous allure, seems to know what's happening. The problem is that he seems to be the craziest thing about it all, especially when he boldly claims his life mission is to protect her.
His intensity leaves her bewildered and undeniably drawn to him. Each encounter is charged with an irresistible magnetism, and she is unsure if being awake is even real anymore.
Unfortunately, Amber wishes she knew what he was supposed to protect her from. Before finding out, she must figure out the secret of staying awake long enough.

I hate having to write these... I don't know how to describe a book I haven't finished yet. But, based on what I have, here it goes. Please, keep in mind, this is book two of the trilogy.
