The third installment in the The Great Web Series.
In the vast multiverse, the Spider-Totems face their greatest battle yet-against ancient enemies, cosmic predators, and a darkness that threatens to consume all reality.
When Shathra, the ancient wasp deity and nemesis of the Spider-Totems, begins her conquest to corrupt the Great Web of Life and Destiny, she sets off a chain of events that reverberates across countless dimensions. As she twists the threads of fate, unleashing her army of corrupted Spiders, the Spider-Army led by Peter Parker of Earth-616 finds itself on the brink of annihilation. Old friends and new allies unite as the Spider-Verse is thrown into chaos.
But Shathra is not the only threat. In the shadows, the Inheritors-ravenous beings who feed on the essence of the Spider-Totems-make their return, desperate to reclaim their dominance over the Web. Led by Solus and his insatiable son Morlun, the Inheritors plot to hunt down every last Spider, targeting "The Other," "The Bride," and "The Scion" to fulfil an ancient prophecy and end the Spider legacy forever.
As the war unfolds, alliances shift, sacrifices are made, and the Spiders must confront their deepest fears and darkest selves. The fate of the multiverse hangs by a thread. Will the combined might of the Spider-Army be enough to mend the Great Web, or will they be devoured by the forces arrayed against them?
The Great Web War is an epic saga of heroism, sacrifice, and the unbreakable spirit of the Spider-Totems. It challenges the very notion of destiny, as the Spiders must choose between the lives they know and the lives they are destined to protect-across all worlds, for all time.
David Algernon is a 15-year-old teenager who lived in Gravesfield, Connecticut with his widowed father William Algernon, who was a police investigator for the Gravesfield County Police Department without a mother. He grew up liking mythology and legendary creatures, including werewolves, when he described them as very loyal to the select few they accept into their circle and symbolized it as representing the duality of human beings as both animal and spiritual beings. Often without, friends and getting bullied in different schools, he met Luz when they were kids.
Luz Noceda is a 14-year-old Afro-Dominican-American girl from Gravesfield, Connecticut and loves all things fantasy and magical, wanting to become a witch. Often feels as though she does not fit in, which accumulates into instilling a poor amount of self-worth when she directly or indirectly messes up and a strong desire to be seen as special and valued, and it's implied that her low self-esteem resulted in her obtaining a guilt and martyr complex.
Her mother Camila Noceda is a veterinarian at the Gravesfield Animal Care Center and like William, she is a widow after her husband and William's best friend Manny died from an illness. Both parents become close to each other and taking care of their kids despite their dark past.
As a werewolf, David's wolf name is Alpha and is abilities as a beast invulnerability to conventional harm because of their healing factor, superhuman speed and strength, and the capability to land on their feet after a steep fall.
