I was born frail and underweight, doctors said I was supposed to die before or within my first month of life. Five to ten percent of children with this condition live past their first year, these children often have severe intellectual disability, and I'm one of them. But this was my mother's last chance to have a child, she said I was the rain before the rainbow. And I didn't believes so, it was just rain before he came into my life. But he didn't see me like the rest, he didn't see my condition, he saw me for what I was a rainbow.

Mama told me that I was a beautiful girl when I was little. Mama said that I had the prettiest tan skin, soft wavy black hair, and the most enchanting emerald eyes. She always called me her bundle of joy. Then she got very sad when she told me that I didn't have a voice. I was only two at the time. I didn't understand any of the former English gibberish.
