Hope Mikaelson and Josie Forbes are best friends. Their feelings are more than obvious, Josie's more than Hope's, with Josie aware and Hope unaware. Josie's feelings grow stronger, but out of respect for Hope's relationship with Landon, she keeps them to herself. 

When they run into an older woman in an older part of Mystic Falls, she informs the two girls that one them will die at the hands of a terrible, deadly curse and the only way to stop it is to know what exactly it is. It's a race against the clock as the two girls race to figure out what the curse is and how to stop it before the death takes place and they lose the other forever.
