Along with Axel, a group of teenage boys wake up in a train with no memory of who they are or where they are going. They make up the remainder of the human population. They soon discover they are much further away from home then they thought. When they look outside, they realise the sky is black tinged with blood, the buildings are made of flesh and plumes of smoke escape from the cracks of the scorched grounds. Time does not exist here. Even the sun and moon has abandoned them. They quickly discover they are not alone leading Axel to believe he isn't the good guy after all. Truth to be told, he doesn't even think he's human. When Axel discovers something far worse then he could ever imagine, he knows no matter how much he wants it some stories won't have a happy ending. In fact, this might be the final ending for humans. the world is told to be fright. and the inside is not much better, safe from whatever is outside. but this boy, Jake, does not believe it completely, could be one of the government's lies to keep them contained. then things start to change, things that turn for the worse. Jake is more determined then ever to escape this hell will he succeed or fall as others have before? (there is no sexual context in any way, but there is gruesome death and consistent swearing, but No sexual content is present. this is a book inspired by "the girl with all the gifts" and "maze runner" if you like those books, this is a suggested book for me.)
