Rising From Ashes is a tale of power, betrayal, and redemption set in early 20th-century America, where a shadowy organization, the PDIA (Political Dis-governmental Independence Agency, or as its publicly known The Pinkerton Department of Investigative Affairs), plots to overthrow the government under the guise of federal service.
Eliza V. Daniels, reeling from a devastating divorce and the tragic loss of her children, is thrust into the PDIA by Arin J. Smiths, the charismatic acting leader tasked with training her as his successor. Their growing partnership deepens into a romantic bond, further complicating Eliza's transformation from a grieving woman to a key operative in the agency's dangerous plan.
The PDIA's founder, the enigmatic Jamie L. Read, secretly maintains control despite his public impeachment. Adding to the intrigue is his clandestine romance with Dr. Kipp A. Price, the agency's Chief Medical Officer, which casts a shadow over PDIA's already fragile dynamics.
As Eliza learns espionage under Arin's mentorship, she encounters Brian R. Campbell, the mysterious third-in-command whose loyalty is increasingly suspect. Whispers of betrayal circulate, and Eliza must untangle layers of deceit to uncover the truth about the traitor threatening to destroy the agency from within.
