Adelaide knew she was different from everyone else. She could feel it deep in her very bones that her soul wasn't new. Her soul was old and wise - it had lived many lives before this one. Add in memories and dreams about a woman she had never seen before and Adelaide DuPont was certain she wasn't normal.
So she partied and drank until her vision blurred - anything to make her forget her mental woes for a night or two. Parties were where she felt safe, surrounded by her friends and the many other people who just wanted to forget the real world in a concoction of alcohol and blaring music.

Mirai comes from a long line of witches who have been particularly gifted in using their inner sight. As such, she's trained her sight from a young age. She's always been a disappointment, however, as the only thing she's ever been able to see is the vague image of a girl. On her 18th birthday, Mirai discovers a mark on the back of her neck displaying the number thirty.
