There are many creatures in this world. The Oni, dragons. even Djinn. All who bear a different purpose in their lives. Then theres the yokai. a powerful but elusive creature know to take many shapes. There's all kinds of Yokai: those that smile, those who look like spiders, and their job? Protect the spirit realm.

But what happens when the spirit realm, and Ninjago, fall under threat? The oni have returned and Ninjago is once more at risk when a girl from a village lost to time comes searching for Lloyd, asking for his help. Can Lloyd defeat his own demons while fighting those invading Ninjago? Can Hannei overcome her fear and reach her true potential?
