Kaz Brekker always knew two things: that he wanted to stand on the stage, to have the attention of the audience solely on him, and that that he loved music. But after his brother's tragic death, he had to realize that his career as a conductor has no future; this however does not stop him from conducting the ghosts of the orchestra and choir of a long closed opera house every night. And one of those nights, one of the ghosts turns out not to be quite as dead as he had assumed.
