Liora is a witch, living as a saintess candidate in a church. Nobody knows who she really is, an abandoned Earth and Forest witch. She keeps her powers hidden, persecuting witches, so she may rule the world unopposed. But then, she does something a saintess is never supposed to. She falls in love with the chief witch-hunter, Leon, bound to do her bidding by the church. To hide it, she will sacrifice anyone, even her rival after sunrise, and lover after sunset, Silvera.
(This is a part of my witch series, which takes place in 1604, in a weird, what-if, alternate reality Europe. The church is in Spain, in a made-up city called Pralli. The question is What if the Spanish inquisition also targeted witches?)
The cover image was generated using Canva's AI image generator. I don't mean to put down human artists, I love their work, I just didn't have any other means to get a cover image because my drawing skills suck. If this gets popular, I'll change the image.

THIS BOOK IS COMPLETED but it will be HEAVILY EDITED and have things added to it in the future. I wrote this book when I was much younger. I didn't expect it to reach this amount of popularity so I will devote my time to bettering it in the future. ------------------ Every year, in our village and the neighbouring villages, we encounter, on what is suppose to be the most divine and celebrated day of the year, a visit from the 'big bad wolf'. At least that's what the children call him. Adults like to call him "inhuman" or a "wild ravenous monster". However, the majority settle for "beast". No one knows why he ruins this specific day for us, the day we can celebrate our species: werewolves. Some despise him for taking this day from us and forcefully exchanging our merry and joyful laughs to screams of fear. When that specific day of the year approaches us, none of us are ever prepared for it. He always comes at night. We are told to lock our windows, draw our curtains and our doors. We are told to hide. There's one main rule that we have: don't look at him. Because if you do, no one knows what'll happen to you. Maybe that's the worse part, not knowing your fate. Not knowing the outcome of your foolish actions. If he comes roaming your streets, you have a right to be scared. Us "maidens" are always encouraged to hide ourselves the most, it's women that he supposedly wants more. However, I believe that that is a cautionary excuse. He'll take you, no matter how old or how young, no matter how innocent or how corrupt, no matter your gender, all it takes is a look. The Inquisitor and the Witch
Atypical for the author, the novel draws its roots from myth and story. The inquisitors were a tool of torture for the Church, and the witches, as long as they did not appear in a fairy tale as negative characters, were burned at the stake. Were they casting evil spells or were they just women in love? But this is not a historical novel, it does not try to reproduce with some degree of fidelity a moment from the past. It's about an Inquisitor concerned with the mystery that hides behind femininity and seeks by any means to find out the secret from a Witch. A novel loaded with metaphors and hidden meanings, almost poetic due to the style used, very atmospheric. But how else not to kill the mysteries than by making them unfold in metaphors?Complete
