Daisy Walter has been living with her uncle Ben since her parents passed away. Her uncle, scared to lose her like his he did his sister and brother in law, kept her at home away from where she could get hurt. After being homeschooled her entire life, Daisy wants to experience the 'real world' but being only sixteen her uncle won't allow her and she doesn't want him to be lonely. Shortly before she turns seventeen her uncles adoptive son comes to stay with them, he was only meant to stay for a short while. But his infatuation with Daisy leads him to stay for over a year. Follow along as Daisy tries to understand feelings and situations that are new to her and comes to understand what her uncle meant by the evils of the world.
