His title falling through the mouth of the Dawnbreaker sounded nothing like the one evocative of reverence, purity, and utter devotion to the Holy Father. And yet, where it should have rung like profanity, the demon spoke it in a fashion akin to a worshiper to his god.

He should regard it with distaste. His virtue should see the insolence of such a suggestion under the eyes of the Divine.

Rafayel knew his gospel, the prayers to admonish worldly desires, and every hymn and chant to lead his passion to the path of the righteous. When the sun rose, he would recite every blessed word, bearing the cloth of an upright man.

But tonight, only for tonight, he chose to be wrong.
