Kai lost everything when he was a kid. His parents went missing and soon after both Kai and Nya were force into an orphanage. That is where Nya was taken away from him too. 

He tried to find where Nya was adopted at but there was no luck and soon after that the orphanage kick kai out as they didn't want to deal with him. 

He was force to live off the streets for years but when he came across a kid that remind Kai of the hardship of living on the streets, he just had to take him in as his own brother.

Lloyd has never really had a full positive day at school. He would get bullied for many thing such as being the son of Lord Garmadon. The destroyer of Ninjago. But Lloyd wouldn't be where he was if it wasn't for his friends. Five other teens always stick up to the blonde allays keeping his heart positive making him forget the negative. Some of them make him laugh, some make him smile, some make him feel safe but one of them makes him feel loved. And that was the hothead of the group. Kai. Kai is the closes to Lloyd out of the five of them. Being his boyfriend. He's in most of lloyd classes and he sits next to him in everything he has with him. (Art is not mine) Pilot Season 1 - Rise of the Snakes Kai and Nya grew up on their own accord. Siblings as idols, idols of each other. They grow up to be just like their parents, the previous masters of fire and water, but neither know what their future holds. Kai is the eldest, the adult of the pair with his fully fledged personality as brother. He raised Nya, parented her as his own child from the simplest age of five years old. Kai lost his childhood because of the responsibilities he had to take on at such a young age, molding his life to fit his little sister's. However, Kai held his calm, kept his ambition aside to guide Nya on her path. He wanted her to have a childhood, one he was unlucky to lose. Nya was his treasure to protect. That's what he believed his role was in life. He didn't expect that to change so soon. ... This is basically a rewrite of the series of Ninjago. I have been wanting to make books of each series like i have seen and this is how i am going to do it. With a little twist. Apologise to those who may be unhappy with the ship focused in these books. My main focus is on Lavashipping and I am going to be sticking with it the whole may through.
