Cats, keys and sliding doors

Percy wants a fresh start in the place where he was born and raised. He moves to New Rome, a picturesque neighbourhood in New York where all the men seem to be chasing a yellow cat with a key hanging from its neck. Whoever catches it apparently has the prize they're all after: The hand of Annabeth Chase - the most beautiful woman in town - in marriage.

Percy doesn't understand and certainly doesn't want to get involved in such activities or with the mysterious woman. But these convictions become a little more difficult to stick to when she lives next door to him, and the yellow cat becomes his faithful companion.
