In every multi-billion dollar company, there will always be one part of it that was, will be, or is, corrupt. Corruption and criminal ties are usually the backbones and the foundation of vast, wealthy companies. Even if one were to try to sever ties with the backbones, supposedly the 'wrong' way of doing things, they would find it proving to be quite difficult.
