Clover stayed back to protect her brother from Walkers because she refused to believe her big brother Rick Grimes was dead. She was right extremely right. She'd do anything for her brother. He was the only family member that accepted her when she came out and made her feel loved. For that she would owe him her life.

Vie was one of rare individuals who stayed at the
CDC and didnt opt out. Her and Brenner worked together to find out what was causing the spread and make a cure when the group showed up. She unlike Brenner was very welcoming and let them in as soon as Rick started banging on the door. Rick found her in the control center with a bottle of tequila and joined her. The two had a heartfelt talk with one another that lead to an unforgettable night that linked them together for life.

Lola's parents died at the beginning of the outbreak leaving her alone to fend for herself for a few months. She managed by herself just fine after learning she blend in with walkers when she had their blood on her. During one of her nightly scavenges she spotted Hershel's farm and saw people needed help so she did the right thing and helped them.

JJ didnt approve of how his father did things in their town. He tried to get him to stop but thing worked. Then Michonne showed up and everything got worse. She offered for Ju to come with her but he was determined to change his father's mind. That plan went down the drain when Michonne killed his little sister and Clover took his eye.
