just so you know: i am hindu! and an indian. but i've recently been quite captivated by the islamic mythology (thanks to shannon chakroborty. if you feel like my story feels a LITTLE too much like city of brass but also different, that's because it was the inspiration) and their names and well, everything. so here's a story, with a mix of, well, many different mythological creatures together. Roza e-Qayyum (nickname: Rose), a mermaid, finds herself trapped in her human body as she's being transported to her ancestral enemies by the servers of Lilith, Lilith who now resides in the sky realm. She no sooner manages to escape from them when she immediately finds herself stuck with an obnoxious river faery with little to no regard for both their lives. The mystical as well as whimsical, although slightly eccentric and short-tempered river faery offers to take Rose to "Jannat", his home. Whether it's actually paradise or is called so due to his affection for his home remains a mystery to Rose until she arrives there. Upon arriving in Jannat, old memories seem to surface, memories she'd never known she possessed. Memories that could possibly destroy her home and all she'd known back in Atlanta. All Rights Reserved
