This poem is inspired by the thought of a soldier's death and the aftermath that follows. As time passes, petals fall, and so do his mother's what ifs.

𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘴 𝘪𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘰𝘸 𝘎𝘰𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘦𝘭 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘭𝘦𝘵 𝘩𝘪𝘮 𝘸𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘺?... Ex military 𝘓𝘶𝘬𝘦 𝘙𝘦𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘴 retired after getting shot in the shoulder, and was forced to drive back home. Like every military staff, who was coming back home, he was still excited to see his fiancèe, despite him losing his job forever. It did not turn out the way he hoped it would be and caught her cheating with his best friend. That's when he started to lose all his hope in life and plot his own death. When life does not work his way he starts blaming God for it. Fortunately, he survived a car accident and was saved by a business woman named 𝘈𝘣𝘪𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘭 𝘗𝘢𝘨𝘦. She helps him become a better version of himself and grow more into Christ, making him find the right path in his life again. "Come back to me, soldier" I stood there at the Airport not wanting him to go. Me not knowing where he was going to be and if he was going to come home to me. "Babe, I love you so much." He said giving me a kiss that was so sweet and passionate. "I love you too Brett Ashwood." That's when the flight boarding intercom came on and it was his flight out. "I'm gonna miss you so much and I will come back to you." I was trying so hard not to cry. I smiled. When he grabbed his bag, I grabbed his hand and kissed him one last time. "I love you Brett." He smiled and walked down the airport. I squatted down and started crying softly. Come back to me Brett.Concluida
