Lex is devastated when her mother dies in a car accident. She is heartbroken, her mother was everything, the only family she had in the world and worst of all Lex was driving.
According to her mother's will, Lex has a stand in guardian - an old family friend who she has never heard of. He wasn't the only secret Lex's mother kept. The more time she spends with this friend and his group of collegues, the more she realises that they are up to something.
One day she stumbles onto something and her world as she knows it comes crashing down around her feet.
Vampires are real and the person she lives with is the leader of a hunting group.
Lex tries to wrap her mind around everything so they take her hunting. They try to take a target - a vampire called Christian - but Lex saves him instead.
There are too many secrets and Lex finds herself in the middle of a battle between the vagabonds and a vampire who she just cannot see as a threat. Lex doesn't know what to do - follow her head or her heart.
