Leni Treulieb, a happy go lucky teenage girl, hoping to escape the past and trying to live in the moment and make the most of it. That changes when she enters high school, where all her expectations are completely crushed.

Ray Gunnen, in contrast to his name, has zero glimmer displayed in most of his time growing up, overshadowed by his perfect and shining older brother. But things start to feel different the moment he lays eyes on her.
