VI
Everything was just....gone.
And...I can't breathe.
Caitlyn all but collapses into me, a broken scream echoing in the air around us, my ears ringing in the agony of it. I stagger, chest heaving, watching the blue flames roar, consuming the entirety of the council building, and likely, everyone within.
Jinx- Powder lowers the rocket launcher, glancing over her shoulder, her eyes meeting mine. An eternity passed between us at that moment, my chest seizing with the grief of losing her again nearly too much to bear.
I open my mouth - to say, what? Don't go? Stay?
There isn't time.
There's never enough time.

"You're different from what I expected," she said softly.
"How so?" he asked, glancing at her.
"I don't know," she replied, searching for the right words. "You just... have this way of making people feel like they matter. Even here, in this... nightmare."
He was quiet for a moment before responding. "You matter, Y/n. Don't forget that."
OR
Y/n wakes up in the deadly Squid Game, surrounded by strangers and fighting to survive. What she doesn't know is that the mysterious Frontman is watching her every move through the cameras- and she's caught his attention.
