Hot shot is an active and playful little five year old boy. He dreams of either being a star athlete or heroic firefighter like his daddy. He lives with his parents Heatwave and Quickshadow. His father is a firefighter and his mother is a stay at home mom. They all live in Fort Worth Texas. Hot shot loves to run, jump, climb and play. He has always been very healthy. However soon Hot shot begins to feel unwell. Hot shot is tired all the time, he is weak, he has a fever and is covered in bruises. His parents take him to see the doctor a few times. But after the third visit and getting sent home with saying Hot shot is fine and moving they were very concerned. They take Hot shot to see a new pediatrician who was very recommend she listens to their worries and is worried too. She sends them to Cook Children's hospital Dodson specialty clinics to see a special doctor. While seeing the special doctor, Hot shot gets tests done and Hot shot is then diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia or ALL a type of blood cancer. Hot shot is ready to be brave and face his cancer head on. His parents are proud of how brave he is being. Hot shot makes friends with four other kids his age in the same hospital with the same type of cancer as him. They become the best of friends and decide to fight their cancer together. There Hot shot is admitted for being sick and was in a lot of pain. A hospitalist who is caring for Hot shot is worried and decides a scan is needed. The next morning she sends Hot shot to get an MRI. Then Hot shot is discovered to have a brain tumor. The brain tumor gets a biopsy sample. Then Hot shot is diagnosed with Atypical Teratoid Rhabdoid Tumor or ATRT a type of brain cancer. Hot shot is ready to be brave and fight his cancer. He makes friends with seven other kids in the hospital with the same type of cancer. They become the best of friends and decide to fight their cancer together.
