What if Manon had soundly broken up with Rody and didn't rebound with Vince?
Would interest have begun to develop between the two organically rather than Rody forcing himself through work for Manon while Vincent's interest in him was tempered by his desire to learn the secret to reacquiring taste?
Without the dark undercurrents and maybe with a little bit of empathy, could things be different for them? Vincent had his sweet moments afterall. And Rody could be kinder and more curious when Manon wasn't involved.
Neither of them are by any means completely stable and faultless, but maybe a solid foundation could have made all the difference.
-This story will contain light violence and swearing as Vincent is a bit of a jerk at times. Future chapters won't contain NSFW, though it will be implied. Just be aware that I intend for this to be a slow-ish burn just because I don't want to rush it. Mostly ill be focusing on fluff and romance because these two deserve that. Due to work and just life in general, updates may be off and on but the plan is to update every Monday! I hope you enjoy the story-

**Y/n POV** Well... This was weird. Scrolling through YouTube in the middle of the night has its downsides. I was so excited when I saw dead plate, a full playthrough with several endings. It was rather unfortunate I couldn't find out where to get it, but that's what the videos are for. To play the game FOR you. Watching the playthrough was enjoyable; but a part of me wished that I could help Rody and Vince. Neither of them deserved the harsh endings, but it wasn't fulfilling to watch Rody call Manon, getting no answer. When I woke up in an apartment that wasn't mine, I was so confused. On my bedside table laid bandages and a note, saying, 'Good luck, Y/n. Here's to a better ending.' Sometimes, wishes do come true. Out of all my wishes, this was probably the worst one to grant. **Author POV** This is DEAD PLATE. It has dark themes of gore, blood, etc. Though, I will add abuse, a drunk addict, misgendering, and foul (censored *slightly*) language. If this makes you uncomfortable, please DON'T read. I'm not putting this on mature because I believe that it's only for smut n' stuff, which I DON'T do. No lemon or lime either. What if in ending 1 of DeadPlate, Manon was actually alive? What if she purposefully ignored Rody's calls? What happened after Rody called her? This is an slow-burn story where Manon didn't actually die and lives as she proceeds to moved on from the situation she had with Rody, and where Vincent wouldn't be so psychotic. Rody's a wreck as he goes through series of negative emotions that fills his head, in which Vincent would help him, even if didn't like displaying vulnerability around anyone at all. Will Rody and Vincent become best friends? Enemies? Or lovers? -This is my first time making a story that isn't a oneshot, and I'm actually going to make this into a short series of mentally unstable Rody Lamoree and a less psychotic Vincent Charbonneau. This will probably be my practice story to help myself and get better in writing and in grammar. -Feel free to give any suggestions if you'd like me to add anything to the story! By seeing Manons body being butchered and Vincent's manipulations, taking a really big toll on his mind, it gets to a point. Rody even responds to his hallucinations of Manon. His brainwashed in the thinking that he loves Vincent when he never really does. He was brainwashed into thinking so. Will Vincent ever stop manipulating Rody? During those about 10 years of working with each other both Reginald and Right Hand Man catch feelings for each other but aren't sure if the other would feel the same for them. Also Henry and Ellie have be in the Top Hat Clan for about 4 years and started to notice that both of them had feelings for each other but decided to wait until they would either confess to each other or tell them both once Henry and Ellie get impatient of waiting for them both to confess, but tease them about it when they get the chance to. Oh and Right Hand Man has his cybernetic enhancements in this story as well.
