I was fortunate enough to be born into a family of immense wealth, surrounded by numerous servants and acquaintances who were not related to me by blood, but with whom I felt closer than my flesh and blood. Despite all the luxuries and comforts, my life was far from perfect. The mansion I grew up in was a place of unspeakable horrors and traumas that left indelible scars on my psyche. Every room in that mansion seemed to be haunted by the ghosts of my past, and I was often paralyzed by fear and loneliness. As a young child, I craved attention and validation from my family and the people around me. I would go to great lengths to be noticed, but as I grew older, I became more self-sufficient and determined to carve out my path. I started my own business and worked tirelessly, joined various organizations, was an academic achiever, and faced countless obstacles along the way, but I never lost my drive to succeed. Despite achieving so much, I was still haunted by the memories of my past. I refused to let them define me, but they still lingered in the deepest recesses of my mind and built an impenetrable wall around my heart, shielding me from any potential pain or heartbreak that might come my way. I learned to trust no one but myself and believed that it was the only way to protect myself from the horrors of my past. Then, Liam Pierre Huxley came into my life. He was different from anyone I had ever met before. He had a way of making me feel safe and comfortable, even when everything around me was chaotic and uncertain. He was my comfort, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of longing whenever I thought of him. But I was also afraid of what would happen if I let him in too close. I had spent so long protecting myself that I didn't know if I was ready to take that risk again. Nakakabaliw.
