The state of the world has greatly disappointed me. Like everyone, I have made promises, experienced love, and felt regret beyond remorse. I still love someone who left and never returned. I watched them leave the door because what else can a man marked by misfortune do but watch? I carry my dreams and my family's aspirations in my hands, bearing the weight of failed dreams on my shoulders, for what can a man marked by misfortune have but those? I believe each of you bears your own misfortunes. In this collection of poems, I write of disappointments and longing, attempting to remember when and where greatness once settled in my heart. This is for me and for you.
