The Lan Clan opened its place again and invited students who wanted to learn more about cultivation and improve their skills and abilities. In this year's lesson, there are fifteen official students which includes Jin Ling of Yunmeng and Lan Sizhui and Lan Jingyi as representatives of the Lan Clan. It was a great opportunity for junior cultivators to mingle with each other but Wei Wushian noticed Lan Wangji's worries.
"Are you afraid that A'Yuan's real identity will be found out?" Wei Wuxian asked.

He laughs, but Lan Zhan knows they are faked. He flinches away from anyone, and Lan Zhan is sure that he could hear screaming at some point during the night. He is no longer creating mischief and breaking rules, and was often found alone, staring blankly into the distance. The only people who could touch him without him backing away was Wen Ning...and him. Lan Zhan realized this when he had grabbed Wei Wuxian to keep him from storming out of a room, and instead of fighting him off as he did with everyone else, he calmed.
