Excerpt Seeing her frozen without even blinking, he came towards her and yelled, "I. said. STRIP." Hearing that, she mumbled in a pleading tone, "Please, Jwalin. I... I'm sorry if I did something wrong. Leave me. I'll just go away and never appear before you again." Listening to her pleas and her stupid talk about leaving, he chuckled, it was so dark that her bones turned chilly. "It was so late to talk about leaving, Pranavi." He said while he moved closer to her and she tried to run, but his hand drove faster than hers and his tight grasp settled on her slender waist while his nails dug into her skin, making her wince in pain. The way Jwalin said it was so late, made her insides twist and she wondered if she had missed out on something. But alas, she had more pressing things that needed her immediate focus. With that, she again tried in her wobbled tone while struggling not to let those pesky wails escape her eyes and piss him off further. "I... I can give you divorce, Jwalin. I... I know... you hate me, so I can make you... free from me, from this forced marriage." She said while his expression turned livid. There was so much hidden rage in him that was threatening to come out by breaking all the bounds. He smirked, while disgust danced on his face, "divorce?" Shaking his head, he asked, his voice turned scary, making her gulp while blinking her eyes, "Do you really think you could do that after being Mrs. Jwalin Oberoi?" .............................. "She had been his ever since she agreed to marry him, but what will happen when she falls for Reyansh Malhotra ~ a man who doesn't believe in love?" _____________________________________________ "He is obsessed with Baani Roy but refuses to love her. Even though, deep down, he is unknowingly falling for her, will he be able to identify his feelings, or will it be too late?" _____________________________________________ I hurried toward his study, my heart racing with excitement. The news had left me glowing, and I couldn't wait to share it with him. He'll be so happy, I thought, a smile tugging at my lips. As I reached the door, I paused, taking a deep breath to steady myself. This is it. He needs to know. With that, I raised my hand to knock, anticipation thrumming through me. But before I could knock I heard his voice from behind the door. "Shut up Karan, I don't love her." He yelled at his best friend. " Oh, really then why the fuck did you even marry her."Karan roared "Because it was a contract dammit, a fucking contract and it will always remain the same." I stood frozen, the weight of his words crashing down on me like a tidal wave. My chest tightened, and before I could stop it, a single tear slipped from my eye, trailing slowly down my right cheek. I didn't bother wiping it away; the ache in my heart was too overwhelming. "It was a contract," I reminded myself bitterly. "How did I forget that? He doesn't love me. He never will." The thought pierced through me, sharp and unforgiving. "I was a fool to believe it was anything more than that-a simple arrangement." I said to myself My hands clenched at my sides as I tried to steady my trembling breaths, but the betrayal I felt refused to loosen its grip.
