Navier Katz moved three years ago to start anew where no one knows her. Longing to be a loner she keeps to herself avoiding college parties and school functions. Even during holidays, she stays in her dorm refusing to go home to her absent dad. She stays cooped up in her dorm besides going to work at the local bookstore Rooted Pages as well as attending her regular classes. This calm and comfortable lifestyle she has built for herself is coming to an end when an unexpected encounter with the boy she hates most causes things to change.

Parker Morgan puts on the front of the extroverted popular guy; never having to worry about his future or the friends he surrounds himself with. These worries aren't relevant to him because his father controls every aspect of his life with a death grip, choking every creative thought out of him. This results in him staying away from committed relationships because of his overwhelming fear of disappointment. But when he runs into Navier(literally) he is completely and utterly intrigued by her disinterest in him and her complete disregard for anything having to do with him.

They share a rare bond, that ends up bringing them together, but how long with this connection last when one of them is hiding a life threatening secret?
