Carmella

Carmella Hawthorne's story takes place in a small town in a developing Boone County, Nebraska in 1875. Her past is something that she'd rather forget, but she can't quite let go as her beloved son came out of an engagement for a marriage that never happened. Managing her business and caring for her son, William, Carmella finds herself confronted with enemies of her past and makes difficult decisions that make her question her humanity.
Cowboys, outlaws, and heroes are scattered throughout Carmella's journey to self-discovery and acceptance, as she embarks to make a better life for herself and her son.
