After fifteen long years, old friends Winnie and Cal are reunited. But times have changed. Witches and Hunters are raging wars all over the land. Yet, in the small town of Bloomsbury these two seem to be kindling something much more than friendship over a single slice of pie... ❦❦❦ The customer service smile that I so delicately crafted cracked a bit when the cinnamon sweet scent of apples greeted my nose. I didn't even have to look down to find that the man was shoving his plate towards me. Though, I did glance at the cracked plate to find a fork stabbed into the heart of an innocent slice of Apple Pie. I cleared my throat, took a deep breath, and asked with the sweetest voice. "Problem with your dish, Sir?" Between the streams of red, I found eyes of blue. They weren't clear like the sky. Or, dingy like the feathers of the blue birds Grandma Bett tended to. No, these eyes mimicked the shimmering seas that I had only seen in my dreams. And, they were staring directly at me. "I-I love pie."

"Does he know your name?" "Nope," I shook my head. "But hey, it was like love at first sight," I said dreamily before snapping back to reality and looking at my best friend who gave me a weird look. "You have to help me," I said. "We're not going to the clothes store with me disguised as a girl again." "No," I groaned. "I want you to help me get him to notice me." My best friend's mouth opened then closed again before his eyes dropped to my boobs, "I mean, we can always start with that." "What? No!" I crossed my arms over my chest while he laughed like the idiot he was and I rolled my eyes, then let out a breath, "Come on, just do this for your Firefly." ▬▬▬▬▬ There was only one reason Renée McCann enjoyed her job at the bakery. To see the guy who had made her stomach flutter at the first sight.
