Selfishly a part of him wishes that on that fateful day that he and Midoriya had met, that it'd never happened.

It's a harsh conclusion, a jarring one even. But that doesn't make it any less true, doesn't have him repealing it.

His wish is not because he regrets meeting the kid, no, never that. It's simply because if they had never met, it'd change this whole course of trajectory. It'd mean that Midoriya wouldn't be here in front of him. That Midoriya wouldn't have gotten all hurt because of him.

And another thing flickers in his mind, Shōta thought he'd saved Midoriya the day he met the boy. That he'd rekindled a bit of that spark in Midoriya's eyes.

And he realizes now -

- that he'd never saved Midoriya at all.

[I listened to the song Green by Cavetown and somehow thought up this fanfiction. The song doesn't have anything to do with the story. (Though I guess the meaning and overall what this story is about is similar..)] Desc: Bakugo and Midoriya have a complicated relationship. To best friends, to bully and victim, to rivals and now.. Strangers? Yeah, Strangers is what you'd call them now. After an argument, Bakugo and Midoriya stop talking to each other. Nobody knows why or how it happened. Bakugo stops calling Midoriya, "Deku," and refers to his real name. Midoriya stops calling Bakugo, "Kacchan," and calls him Bakugo. Nobody is brave enough to question it, and it never gets addressed. Eventually, that becomes the norm. Bakugo and Midoriya CAN cooperate in lessons now, so the teachers say nothing. Bakugo and Midoriya don't fight anymore ̶(̶T̶h̶e̶y̶ ̶n̶e̶v̶e̶r̶ ̶t̶a̶l̶k̶ ̶a̶n̶y̶m̶o̶r̶e̶.̶)̶, so nobody says anything. It's all for the better, right? Well, that's what they tell themselves. But deep down, Bakugo and Midoriya hate it. They hate how they've ended up like this. So.. Maybe that's why Bakugo decides to apologize in the end. Too bad it took so long to do it. ̶(̶T̶o̶o̶ ̶b̶a̶d̶ ̶i̶t̶ ̶w̶a̶s̶ ̶t̶o̶o̶ ̶l̶a̶t̶e̶.̶)̶ ̶ ____ Please be wary of the warnings that I will put at the END of each chapter (So people avoid spoilers.) THOUGH I WILL MENTION THIS: Character Death is involved. Does not a happy ending _____ My Hero Academia is made by Kohei Horikoshi Art in the story and book cover is NOT made by me! _____ This was originally just going to be a one-shot, but I've cut it up into 4 chapters only. NOT BAKUDEKU _____ This was actually really sad to write I don't know why I did it :(

Never Meant To Be

1 part Complete

25K words To say their relationship was complicated would be an understatement. Kacchan was never a good friend to Deku and they both knew it and yet Deku fell in love with him anyway. And at some point Kacchan did too. So you know how the stories go, right? Two people in love with each other are meant to be. They get together and live happily ever after. Except Kacchan and Deku were never meant to be. The love they have for each other are haunted by their past. Deku may love and forgive Kacchan... but he hasn't healed and Kacchan hasn't changed. They love each other but it just won't work- not unless they both grow and change. But the question becomes- will they be able to overcome their never meant to be?
